Excellent imaging performance and smooth bokeh throughout the zoom range. Delivering excellent imaging performance from center to periphery, even at 300mm, it captures detailed details and delivers impressive results using the compression effect unique to telephoto lenses. This lens is ideal for capturing airplane and train photography, where precision is required. It also allows for the smooth blur that develops as the focus moves out of focus, creating a three-dimensional texture. Even in night scenes, beautiful, high-quality bokeh without rings is enhanced with minimal vignetting. While increasing the number of zoom elements typically increases size, our proprietary technology for densely arranging cam grooves has made this lens compact and lightweight, with excellent imaging performance and smooth bokeh. The lens employs a UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens element, which is resistant to chromatic aberration, for superior imaging performance. Generally, the longer the focal length, the greater the chromatic aberration, making it more susceptible to loss of contrast and color bleeding. To overcome this issue, this lens employs a UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens element, which has lower dispersion than ED lenses. With performance similar to that of fluorite, the lens suppresses chromatic dispersion and effectively corrects on-axis chromatic aberration, ensuring excellent image sharpness across the entire shooting range, right to the edges of the image. The 11 aperture blades also deliver beautiful bokeh and impressive light effects in scenes with illuminated lights and other light sources. Expanding the possibilities of photography and videography, we developed a new actuator compatible with the long stroke of this 300mm telephoto macro lens, achieving a magnification of 0.5x at 300mm. By ensuring ample distance from the subject, you can capture close-up macro shots even in difficult-to-get-close situations, such as behind a fence or fence. It also allows for the placement of photographic equipment such as reflectors and lighting between the subject and the lens, enhancing shooting flexibility. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.54m at the widest 70mm and 0.74m at the telephoto 300mm, close-up shots are possible, enhancing the subject's presence and creating a sense of presence. Furthermore, the Dual I.S.2 image stabilization system, which works in conjunction with the S-series in-body image stabilization (B.I.S.) system, supports handheld macro photography. Fast and precise focusing: 480 AF operations per second and contrast detection technology deliver high-precision focusing, while also achieving high speed. The lens instantly detects contrast peaks and calculates the direction of movement and the focus position. Furthermore, faster communication control between the body and lens achieves both precision and speed.
Outstanding video shooting performance for professional filmmaking. The optical design supports high-definition video capture, and the optimized internal structure of the lens barrel suppresses breathing, which changes the angle of view as the focus position shifts during focusing during video recording. A dedicated circuit for improved position detection accuracy improves zoom position detection accuracy, and the zoom tracking control cycle is increased to a maximum of 240Hz*, achieving highly accurate zoom tracking. The focus ring can be switched between linear and non-linear settings. The non-linear method shifts the focus by a variable amount in relation to the rotation speed of the focus ring, allowing for agile focusing. The linear method shifts the focus by a fixed amount in relation to the rotation of the focus ring, and the rotation amount can also be adjusted to suit the shooting scene, enabling intuitive and precise focusing similar to that of a mechanical lens. It also supports "Image Stabilization Boost" to enhance image stabilization. *When shooting at 4K30p and 4K60p.
The compact and lightweight design protects the lens even in harsh shooting environments. The dust- and splash-proof design makes it suitable for a wide range of scenes.* The design, which takes into consideration the center of gravity balance when gripping, reduces the load on the grip and enables more mobile shooting. Capture those rare, unexpected shutter opportunities, regardless of the weather, and protect your precious lens from water and dust. *When attached to a Panasonic dust- and splash-proof camera body. While the design is dust- and splash-proof, it does not completely prevent dust and water from entering.
Low-temperature resistance down to -10°C. Capturing the beautiful, fantastical world of snow and ice in new photographs.
The compact and lightweight design fits comfortably in the hand, and the robust, high-quality design inspires photography. The compact and lightweight design fits comfortably in the hand like a familiar tool. The camera features graphic lines that express the path of light from the lens to the viewfinder, vertical slit knurling that balances operability and design, and an "S" mark that subtly asserts itself despite its compact size and light weight. The glossy black finish shared with the S series body brings joy to ownership, while its mobility and robustness broaden the scope of photographic expression. It also comes equipped with four control switches that allow for quick operation and support for photography. [Accessories] Lens hood, lens cap, lens rear cap ■ Specifications ■
