A large-aperture, high-performance wide-angle prime lens with an F1.4 aperture, compatible with 35mm full-frame cameras. This is the first E-mount lens with a large F1.4 aperture, compatible with 35mm full-frame cameras. It employs three aspherical lens elements, including one advanced aspherical (AA) lens, developed using Sony's proprietary advanced molding technology, to deliver stunning resolution from the center to the edges of the frame. It also features T* (T-star) coating, which reduces surface reflections, resulting in high contrast and sharp, clear images. The nine-blade circular aperture and bright f/1.4 maximum aperture create beautiful, large bokeh effects. Furthermore, the focus drive employs Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM), which precisely controls the focus lens. The quiet operation of Direct Drive SSM and the aperture ring make it ideal for both still and video shooting. The dust- and weather-resistant design ensures superior performance even in harsh outdoor environments. Optical performance boasts stunning resolution from the center to the periphery. The latest optical design employs three aspherical lenses, including one advanced aspherical (AA) lens, developed using Sony's proprietary advanced molding technology, effectively correcting various aberrations for stunning resolution. Maintaining high resolution from the center to the periphery, it delivers sharp images even at maximum aperture. Furthermore, Carl Zeiss's proprietary T* (T-Star) coating suppresses flare and ghosting, delivering excellent color reproduction and contrast. Direct Drive SSM Focusing: The Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM) technology uses ultrasonic expansion and contraction of a piezoelectric element to drive the focus lens. The newly developed large Direct Drive SSM moves the large 35mm full-frame focus lens, enabling precise focusing even with a shallow depth of field. Its quiet operation makes it ideal for video recording, where focus can be adjusted during recording. An aperture ring for instantaneous control: The aperture ring provides the instantaneous control required for professional videography. The click function can be toggled on/off with a switch. When on, you can feel the aperture movement, making it ideal for still photography. When off, the operation noise is reduced, making it ideal for video recording. Dust- and Water-Resistant Design: The lens is designed to resist dust and water intrusion, taking into account harsh outdoor environments. *Although the lens is dust- and water-resistant, it does not completely prevent dust and water from entering.
