Released July 2016
This large-aperture wide-angle lens boasts a bright f/1.4 aperture, making it ideal for indoor and other low-light situations and for capturing bokeh. Mount: Micro Four Thirds Mount. Focal Length: 12mm (35mm equivalent: 24mm). Maximum Aperture: f/1.4. Filter Diameter: 62mm / [HX012] HX012 Released July 2016
The large-aperture wide-angle lens, the f/1.4 SUMMILUX, meets Leica's strict optical standards. Its f/1.4 aperture is achieved through two aspherical lenses, two UED lenses, and one ED lens. It thoroughly suppresses sagittal flare, chromatic aberration, and peripheral shading, delivering precise, natural-looking images with rich gradation all the way to the edges of the frame. It's ideal for capturing magnificent landscapes, cityscapes, starry skies, night scenes, and other subjects that demand exceptional image quality. The F1.4 brightness makes it ideal for shooting indoors and in other low-light situations, as well as for capturing bokeh.
Comprehensively corrects sagittal flare from maximum aperture to the periphery of the frame. When photographing nightscapes or starry skies, sagittal flare, which causes the image of a point light source at the periphery of the frame to resemble a bird with its wings spread, is a type of aberration that is particularly prone to occur with large-aperture lenses. By optimally positioning aspherical elements, this lens delivers high-quality imaging performance without blurring or distortion, even at the periphery of the frame.
High-speed, high-precision AF supports high-quality shooting. The latest optical design minimizes even the slightest changes in the angle of view during AF search during 4K video recording. Furthermore, the 240fps high-speed, high-precision contrast AF enables high-speed, high-precision AF, instantly focusing on the subject and capturing the perfect shot in a wide range of scenes, from wide-angle to telephoto.
Equipped with an aperture ring for intuitive operation. The aperture ring is located on the lens barrel. The familiar ring operation from old lenses allows you to intuitively adjust the aperture to capture a momentary inspiration. Even while looking through the viewfinder, you can adjust exposure and depth of field by operating the lens ring, allowing you to respond intuitively to changes in the shooting environment and subject. The dust- and splash-proof design protects the lens even in harsh shooting environments, allowing for mobile shooting in a wide range of outdoor scenes. You can capture those rare, unexpected shutter opportunities regardless of the weather, and protect your precious lens from water droplets and dust. [Accessories] Lens hood, lens cap, lens rear cap, lens pouch ■ Specifications ■ Lens construction: 15 elements in 12 groups (2 aspherical lenses, 1 ED lens, 2 UED lenses) Mount: Micro Four Thirds mount Angle of view: 84° Focal length: f=12mm (35mm equivalent: 24mm) Minimum aperture: F16 Maximum aperture: F1.4 Aperture type: 9-blade circular iris diaphragm Shooting range: 0.2m-∞ (from the image plane) Maximum magnification: 0.1x (35mm equivalent: 0.2x) Filter diameter: φ62mm Maximum diameter x length: φ70mm x approx. 70mm Weight: approx. 335g (excluding lens hood, lens cap, lens rear cap) □ Manufacturer's warranty period: 1 year
