When attached to a PENTAX 35mm full-frame SLR camera, it provides an ultra-wide angle of view from 15-30mm, creating a stunning perspective that enhances landscape photography. Furthermore, the 30mm focal length on the telephoto end provides a focal range that is also suitable for snapshots.
The latest optical design, featuring 18 elements in 13 groups, includes three extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements and three aspherical lenses, thoroughly correcting chromatic aberration, distortion, and coma, delivering high contrast and high resolution all the way to the edges of the frame. With a bright F2.8 aperture throughout the entire zoom range, this lens is ideal for landscape photography, nightscapes, and starry sky photography, greatly expanding your shooting possibilities. Despite its ultra-wide-angle lens, it also allows you to take advantage of background blur and achieves a minimum focusing distance of 28cm, adding a three-dimensional effect to your subject in macro photography. Equipped with an in-lens ultrasonic motor (SDM), the new SDM motor inside the lens delivers fast, quiet autofocus for comfortable operation. Weather-resistant construction: The entire lens is sealed to prevent water from entering the lens. Pairing it with a weather-resistant PENTAX digital SLR camera body improves reliability and durability in rainy, foggy, and splash-prone environments. HD Coating for enhanced imaging performance: The lens features the latest high-performance multi-coating technology, HD Coating.
