Only the camouflage painted flight deck is pre-painted and no painting required
The aircraft carrier "Zuiho" has its roots in the fast tanker "Takasaki," which was planned to be converted into an aircraft carrier during wartime.
It was built at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal, but conversion to an aircraft carrier began in 1939 and was completed in December 1940.
After the war began, they participated in support missions and the Midway operation.
During the battle for Guadalcanal, the ship participated in the Battle of the South Pacific in October 1942, but was damaged by fire.
After that, the flight deck was extended to accommodate the takeoff and landing of modern aircraft, and the ship participated in the Battle of the Mariana Islands, returning safely.
She participated in Operation Sho-Ichi-Go in October 1944 as part of a decoy task force centered around the aircraft carrier Zuikaku, and was killed in action.
[Structure and specifications]
This is a kit that is assembled using adhesive on molded parts.
- Painting is required except for the pre-painted flight deck
[Product Features]
- Based on the appearance in October 1944 (Operation Sho-Ichi-Go)
- The flight deck on the bow side has been extended, and the mast is equipped with a No. 13 radar to recreate the final appearance of the ship.
Hull: The hull is divided into left and right parts.
- The bottom of the ship and the hull are separated at the waterline, and the bottom of the ship is a single part on the left and right
- Delicate carvings all around express the outside electrical wiring
- The hangar (upper deck/top deck) rear end aisle and pillars, the stern cab stan and auxiliary anchor are made into separate parts.
- Three-
Dimensional carvings are applied to the fine details, including the underside of the sponsons on the sides and the reinforcing ribs.
- The bridge deck and rear short boat deck have linoleum flooring
Flight deck ★Unlike the standard version, the difficult-to-paint camouflage pattern is pre-painted.
The flight deck is made up of two separate parts, the front and rear of the extension, which are connected by an unnoticeable expansion joint.
- The elevator can be set to rise or fall, and the wind shield is a separate part to give it a realistic shape.
- Expansion joints, wooden decks, split patterns, etc. are expressed with delicate carvings
Outfitting: Most of the side sponsons are separate parts to allow for easy reproduction of the shape.
The chimney is made up of two pieces, top and bottom, and the lattice structure of the exhaust port is also a separate part, allowing for a sense of depth to be recreated.
- The auxiliary chimney is reproduced as a single part, including the base, in the "raised" state.
・ The radio antenna support is a separate base and support, and can be raised or lowered
- The gun mounts at the stern and bow, as well as the rocket launcher, are recreated with special parts.
- Two types of aircraft are included
- Includes Zero Fighter Type 52 and Tenzan, 2 of each
- Masking sheets are included to assist with camouflage painting of the sides of the ship.
- Cut along the printed outline of the camouflage pattern and use for masking work.
・ The molding color of the main parts is bright green (outer ship No. 22 color) to take painting into consideration.
