TAMIYA 1/35 Israeli Army Tank M51 Super Sherman. T35 Israeli M51 Shiman Released in December 2011
[Product Introduction]
TAMIYA 1/35 Israeli Army Tank M51 Super Sherman.
[Actual Vehicle Description]
During the Third Middle East War in June 1967, the Israeli army's M51 Super Sherman utilized its tremendous attack power to overwhelm the Egyptian armored forces. Introduced in 1962 as the definitive version of the Super Sherman following the M1 and M50, which were the core of the Israeli army's armored forces. Most of them are based on the M4A1 with a cast body, and a cast turret with a counterweight at the rear is equipped with a long-barreled 105mm gun developed by the French army for main battle tanks. The engine has been strengthened to a 460 horsepower Cummins diesel engine, and it is equipped with HVSS (horizontal spiral spring suspension) and wide tracks to demonstrate excellent maneuverability. The M51, which boasted the strongest of the many M4 Sherman variants, is etched in history as the last Sherman tank variant.
[Kit Description]
The M51 Super Sherman, said to be the culmination of Sherman tanks, will be added to the 1/35MM series. Overall length: 257mm, overall width: 86mm. Based on detailed interviews with the actual vehicle at Israel's Latrun Tank Museum, it has been modeled to fully capture its impressive appearance, including its long main gun equipped with a rugged muzzle brake. The upper part of the cast body, which is mainly curved, and the cast turret with an extended rear part, vividly reproduces the complex form. The lower part of the car and the suspension of the HVSS are also made with new parts to give it a three-dimensional feel. The track reproduces the wide type called T80. We adopted a simple and realistic belt type. The dolls are a set of 2 half-length figures of a commander and a loader that fit in the turret hatch. Three types of decals are planned, including vehicles participating in the Third Middle East War. Based on detailed research on the actual vehicle at the Laturn Tank Museum, the curved body and turret form are thoroughly modeled. The long main gun, the overhang at the rear of the turret that also serves as a counterweight, and various equipment have been faithfully recreated. The half-length portraits of the commander and loader create a sense of realism. The realistic expression of the mantlet canvas and the overhang at the rear of the turret are also highlights. The rugged muzzle brake is impressive. The complex shape of the welded structure is faithfully reproduced with an easy-to-assemble parts configuration. The suspension of the HVSS is finished with a three-dimensional feel while keeping the number of parts low. The track is made into parts using a simple and realistic belt type.
