TAMIYA 1/35 MM French medium tank Somya S35. The SOMUA S35 was developed as a medium tank for the cavalry units of the French Army in the mid-1930s before World War II. It was characterized by the active use of casting with an emphasis on productivity, and the car body in particular had an advanced structure in which large cast parts were joined together with bolts. The main gun is equipped with a 47mm tank gun. The 190 horsepower V8 gasoline engine provided excellent maneuverability with a maximum speed of 40 km/h. Approximately 430 vehicles were produced from 1936 to June 1940, and were mainly deployed in the Dragoon Regiment and Cuirassier Regiment of the Light Mechanized Division. - During the German invasion of France from May to June 1940, it fought bravely against the German army in Belgium and northern France. The SOMUA S35, with its well-balanced high performance, is said to be the best tank in the French army at the beginning of the war. Total length 153mm, total width 63mm. Based on interviews with actual vehicles, the cast body and turret's rounded appearance has been modeled to give it a realistic feel. The texture of each part, such as the casting pattern, is also expressed. The bogie-type suspension and armored cover are also reproduced with easy-to-assemble parts for a realistic feel. The tracks are connected and assembled by fitting. Includes one commander figure looking forward from the rear hatch of the turret. Also includes 3 types of decals and a color camouflage painting diagram. The shape is made up of curved surfaces unique to casting, and the atmosphere is fully modeled. The bogie-type suspension and armored cover are also reproduced with easy-to-assemble parts. The tracks are assembled using a combination of insets for a realistic finish. There is no need to separate the pieces from the runner. The commander figure looking forward from the rear hatch of the turret enhances the sense of reality. The unique shape of the turret and the cupola above the turret are also interesting points. The surfaces of the car body and turret realistically reproduce the casting pattern. The waterproof sheet is divided into three parts and has a rich texture. A metal tow chain is also available. The sharp carvings on the engine grille and the delicate finish on the exhaust pipe are also highlights. The miscellaneous goods box and tools on the side of the car are also separate parts, giving it a three-dimensional feel.
