TAMIYA 1/35 MM German Self-Propelled Howitzer Vespe “Italian Front”.

During World War II, the German army developed many self-propelled guns for infantry support and anti-tank use. Among them, Vespe is a self-propelled howitzer equipped with a 10.5cm howitzer for infantry support on a body based on the Panzer II. The main gun has excellent performance and high reliability, with a maximum range of 10,650 m when using high-explosive shells weighing 14.81 kg, and 676 guns were produced from February 1943 to July 1944. It was used for support fire on a wide range of fronts from Russia to northwestern Europe after Normandy. Vespe fought hard on the Italian front from 1943 onwards. In particular, during the Anzio Landing Operation launched in January 1944 by American and British forces with the aim of occupying Rome, vehicles from the German 26th Panzer Division and 29th Panzergrenadier Division were dispatched for counterattack operations, causing hardship to the Allied Forces of the United States and Britain. .
