HASEGAWA 1/72 F9F-2 Panther. The F9F-2 Panther is Grumman's first jet fighter, and the first U.S. Navy jet carrier fighter to participate in actual combat. During the Korean War, the Panther played an active role in attacking communist ground forces as the main force of the carrier task force, but it was also the first U.S. Navy aircraft to shoot down a jet fighter. Derivative types include the F9F-2P, which is a photo reconnaissance type, and the F9F-5, which has a J48-P-4 engine.
