New parts have been added to the Unryu-class No. 2 Amagi, a unique wartime mass-produced medium-sized aircraft carrier designed to simplify construction! The product is an unpainted kit that requires gluing and painting.
The scale is 1/700, and the bottom of the ship is not included.
This product is made up of a conventional (special series) mold and newly designed additional parts.
The Amagi was built as the second Unryu-class ship at the private Mitsubishi Nagasaki Shipyard and completed in August 1944.
<br> Basic plan number G16, (urgent) plan started on Unryu, followed by 15 ships including this one to make up for the loss of aircraft carriers after the Battle of Midway.
In order to shorten the construction period, the design was carried out by redesigning the aircraft carrier Hiryu, and the later ships, such as Amagi and Katsuragi, were simplified in shape.
When Amagi was completed, the number of aircraft on board was already insufficient, so she was kept waiting in the inland sea and moored under false names along with her sister ship Katsuragi at Triplets Island on the south side of the Kure Naval Port.
In July 1945, the ship was hit and capsized during an air raid on Kure City, resulting in its final days without contributing to the war effort. It was salvaged after the war and dismantled in November 1947.
-Reproduces features that differ from the first ship Unryu, such as a square machine gun mount for simplified construction and an enlarged rear bridge.
Newly designed parts are available to standardize the differences in the reproduction of equipment, etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts are divided to take painting into consideration. The No. 13 radar is a new enclosed part with a truss structure and a sculptured antenna part.
- The No. 21 Type 6 radar for the bridge and the insulator base for fixing the elements on the front side are more delicately carved than the conventional accessory parts.
・The 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun A1 Kai 1 is divided into 6 parts, with improved modeling resolution compared to the existing 2 parts.
The 9-meter cutter is made into two parts to allow for painting, and the stand is available as a separate part, with the option of a one-piece deck mold.
・The 12m internal combustion boat is designed with painting in mind, with the canvas, wheelhouse and engine room canopy made into separate parts.
Each painting is done and assembly and bonding are done later.
- The boat body and the loading floor are made into separate parts in a three-part configuration, and can be assembled after painting, eliminating the need for masking.
・The 12-meter internal fire launch can now be expressed without the canvas
・The shipboard stand is molded to express the uneven shape and light holes, giving it a more precise look.

- The Type 96 25mm triple machine gun and single machine gun are standardly constructed in two parts, reducing the need for painting and color separation.

The bow anchor chain deck is an integrated part with a non-slip strip pattern, bollard, hawser reel and three-dimensionally carved anchor chain.
The flight deck is made up of one part, and the elevator is a separate part.
The surface is carved with various shapes such as aircraft locking eye rings, landing brake lines, and expansion joints.

The concealed type 21 radar and two concealed searchlights on the flight deck can be deployed or retracted.
The elevator can be assembled either in the up position or in the down position into the hangar.
The truss structure on the bow and stern of the flight deck is expressed as a three-dimensional sculpture.

The bridge base is a one-piece molded part made using a slide mold.
The chimney is divided into upper and lower parts, and the internal conductive plate is a separate part for fine detailing.
- The funnel cap is in its "detached" state, with a sense of precision.
・The bridge (air defense command center) includes binocular telescope parts that enhance the sense of precision.
- The anti-aircraft gun mounts and machine gun mounts on the sides of the ship are made into separate parts, and the striped pattern on the floor is expressed with intricate carvings.
- Machine gun mounts and anti-aircraft gun sponson supports are reproduced with minute molded parts
- Various types of equipment on the ship's sides, such as radio antenna masts and landing lights, are available as separate parts.
The 25mm triple machine gun is precisely sculpted and comes in two parts for easy painting, with the 2018 model molded parts included as standard.
- Four types of aircraft are included, six of each, for a total of 24 aircraft.
The aircraft types were the four types owned by the 601st Air Group, which existed as a carrier-based unit after completion: "Zero Fighter Type 52", "Zero Fighter Type 21 Bomber", "Suisei", and "Tenzan".
- Four A6M Zero Type 52 carrier-based fighters are included, with the windshield and propellers made into separate parts to allow for painting.
- Four A6M Zero Type 21 (bomb-loaded) aircraft are included, with the drop tanks on both wings and the 250 kg bomb under the fuselage reproduced as separate parts
〈br〉 ・The windshield, propeller, and 60 kg bomb of the Comet Carrier Bomber Type 12 are separate parts, making it easy to paint them separately.
- Four Tenzan carrier attack aircraft are included, with their characteristic four-wing propellers and the 250 kg bomb suspended under the fuselage as separate parts.
<br> <br> The molding color of the main parts is light green, taking into consideration the coloring when painted with anti-submarine camouflage.

Two types of decals are included: one for the camouflage pattern of the flight deck and one for marking the aircraft.
