Shimano Exsence: The "Scales" that drive you crazy with their authenticity. In pursuit of true realism, the design of the Kyōrin Hologram began with sketching the scales of a live sardine. Scales were collected from an actual sardine and enlarged. The outline of the sketch was digitized, and this was superimposed onto an enlarged photograph of a sardine to create a layout with the actual spacing of real scales. To make each and every one of these scales shine brightly, further necessary technologies were incorporated and uniquely developed to create the Shimano original Kyōrin Hologram.
