◆G.T. (Limited Edition) [Analog Record] Ryuichi Sakamoto Item Number: MDJL-1023 Release Date: May 27, 2026 7-inch pops Label: Midi *This product is an analog record. "G.T.", which was released as a lead single from the 1986 album "Futuristic Guy", is reissued on color vinyl. "G.T." is an abbreviation of "Grand Turismo", which means grand journey in Italian, and as the title suggests, it is a fast-paced, danceable electric funk tune. The album features Bernard Fowler, a member of the legendary NYC Peech Boys group produced by New York DJ Larry Levan, and also known for his work as a backing vocalist for the Rolling Stones, on vocals. "Parolibre," included on Side B, is a piano-driven piece reminiscent of Chopin's preludes, in contrast to "G.T.," with Kaori Kano on vocals and Arto Lindsay on guitar. It is one of Ryuichi Sakamoto's signature works, which has continued to be performed by piano trios and as a piano soloist. Heba Kadry, who also handled the remastering for the 2024 analog reissue of "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence," was brought in for the remastering. Recording Information
