The M81 is a dynamic microphone that inherits the strengths of TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik's top-selling M80 model, accurately reproducing the core frequency range of audio signals while minimizing undesirable effects such as proximity effect and feedback. Compared to the M80, the M81 has a slightly smoother top end for an extremely flat response across the entire frequency range. This model joins the lineup with a different character and purpose than the M80. The M81's rich, full, and highly articulate sound makes it an excellent match for percussion and horns, while adding fullness and richness to thin, delicate sources. Benefiting from an exquisitely balanced and controlled high end, it transforms harsh high frequencies into a gentler tone without impairing the expressiveness of bright vocals or guitars.
