The essence of ZOIA is a fully-featured modular pedal system in the form of a pedal. This groundbreaking instrument lets you combine the functions of various modules like Lego blocks to build a variety of music production tools, including a virtual pedalboard, modular synthesizer, looper, and sequencer, in your own unique style. By placing and connecting various modules on an open canvas for developing sound ideas, you can freely create a fully-featured virtual pedalboard or modular synthesizer. ZOIA's infinite possibilities are limited only by your imagination. A fully-featured modular system in the form of a pedal. This groundbreaking instrument lets you combine the functions of various modules like Lego blocks to build a variety of music production tools, including a virtual pedalboard, modular synthesizer, looper, and sequencer, in your own unique style. By placing and connecting various modules on an open canvas for sonic ideas, you can freely build a fully-featured "virtual pedalboard" or "modular synthesizer." ZOIA's infinite possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Overview: Modules are arranged on an 8x5 button grid, and each module consists of multiple parameters. Each parameter is accessed via a button on the grid, providing access to specific module functions. The inputs and outputs between the buttons can be freely patched together, just like a modular synthesizer. The button grid represents one page of a patch (buttons can span multiple pages). Saving a patch allows you to save all modules, parameters, and connections to ZOIA's internal memory. Create multiple new patches and navigate them with stomp switches. If you're familiar with guitar effects but not much experience with synthesizers, ZOIA may seem intimidating, but don't worry; guitar effects and modular synths share a similar structure. For example, a tremolo effect is nothing more than a VCA (voltage-controlled amplifier) controlled by an LFO (low-frequency oscillator). A delay effect generates repeats by delaying the input signal and returning a portion of it to the input. By subtly modulating the delay time with an LFO to add a pleasant shimmer, and then adding a filter in the feedback loop to recreate the warmth of the delay, you can quickly emulate a vintage tape delay. ZOIA comes with a large number of pre-built effect modules, but you can also freely design and build your own effects pedals if you so desire. It's probably more accurate to think of ZOIA as a "platform" rather than simply a pedal. With ZOIA, you can build effects pedals, synthesizers, music tools, and even entire instruments in your own unique style. ■Registration Code: 4560482827732
