The M60 FET uses the same TK6X capsule system as the TEC Award-winning small diaphragm tube microphone, the ELA M 260. The M60 FET was born as a renovation of the classic FET microphone. The M60 FET uses the TEC Award-winning small diaphragm tube TK6X capsule system, the same as the ELA M 260 microphone. TK60: The frequency response is flat from 150 Hz to 7 kHz with a smooth, crisp peak at 8 kHz. It's ideal for miking drum overheads, hi-hats, rides, and other acoustic instruments, as well as piano, guitar, and other acoustic instruments. TK61: The 15 mm diameter, 6 micron thick omnidirectional capsule delivers an open, spacious sound ideal for capturing the ambience and airiness of an instrument, or capturing the entire sound of a room or hall. It has a flat response from 20 Hz to 5 kHz with a smooth, crisp peak at 8 kHz, just like the TK60. TK62: The supercardioid capsule has a narrow polar pattern. This microphone is a powerful addition to stereo miking cymbals and percussion instruments in live performances, on stage, in recording studios, and in studio rooms. Its flat response from 150Hz to 3kHz, subtle dip at 6kHz, and airy, vibrant peak at 8kHz, are ideal for recording. The M60 FET microphone is a renovation of the classic FET microphone, featuring a unique circuit patented by TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik for exceptional transient response and high SPL capability. Carefully selected components are hand-assembled on gold-plated circuit boards to create a clean, accurate Class A discrete amplifier with a frequency range of 20Hz to 50kHz +/-2dB. The output stage utilizes a custom US-made transformer for ultra-low self-noise and distortion (0.0015% THD+N), making it an ideal recording tool. The body (amplifier section) is finished with a durable, thin, black powder coat that won't peel off easily and features the traditional TELEFUNKEN badge. The connector section is built in a matte nickel finish with the model name and serial number engraved on it, and the capsule section is finished in gold mesh and bright nickel.
