A compact filmmaking camera that combines cinematic imaging with α digital SLR camera technology. 10.26 megapixels (approx.) Continuous shooting speed: fps (approx.) / [ILMEFX6V]ILMEFX6V Released December 2020. The world's smallest and lightest* Compact body boasts Sony's uncompromising full-frame performance. The α7 series introduces the new Compact series, the α7C. Weighing approximately 509g, it boasts the world's smallest and lightest* compact body. Despite its unprecedented compactness and lightness, it's packed with all the features you need. Take Sony's uncompromising full-frame performance, including high image quality, autofocus, and video performance, with you wherever you go. *: As a full-frame digital SLR camera with optical in-body image stabilization. As of September 2020. According to Sony research. Equipped with a 35mm full-frame back-illuminated sensor with approximately 24.2 effective megapixels and the BIONZ X image processor. The 35mm full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and the BIONZ X image processor deliver high resolution, improved low-light performance, and improved color reproduction. The maximum standard ISO sensitivity of 51200 combines sharp resolution with noise reduction. A dynamic range of approximately 15 stops is also achieved. The full-frame sensor with approximately 24.2 effective megapixels delivers a high level of expressiveness in any shooting situation. Supports 4D Focus for instantaneous subject capture and retention. Despite its compact body, the camera supports 4D Focus, a technology also featured on professional cameras like the α9. By maintaining sharp, accurate focus over a wide area, it instantly captures the subject in a variety of challenging scenes. Real-time Tracking: Automatically track your subject, regardless of whether you're shooting still images or videos. Simply select your subject and half-press the shutter button to let the camera track it. The camera quickly processes spatial information based on color, pattern (brightness), and subject distance (depth) in real time. By turning on Face/Eye Priority during AF, the camera will continuously detect face/eye information in real time and adjust the focus frame accordingly. You can also assign Press Tracking to a custom key to initiate tracking at the desired moment. And with Touch Tracking enabled, you can track your subject simply by touching the monitor. Real-time Eye AF: Continuously Tracks Eyes (People) The camera uses AI to continuously track eyes in real time. With Face/Eye Priority enabled during AF, Eye AF will activate not only when you press the custom key, but also when you half-press the shutter button or press the AF-ON button. In addition, combined with real-time tracking technology, it accurately captures the eyes of moving subjects. Even when taking photos of moving subjects, you can continue to track their eyes with high precision by half-pressing the shutter button and then release the shutter. You can also choose which eye to focus on: Auto, Right Eye, or Left Eye, or set it to switch between left and right with each press of the custom button using Right Eye/Left Eye Selection. Real-time Eye AF, which also supports animals: Real-time Eye AF automatically tracks the eyes of animals with high speed and precision. Photographing animals, which previously tended to be difficult to pinpoint, or capturing the adorable eyes of pets, is now much easier. Various AF modes are available, including when you half-press the custom button or shutter button. High-speed continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking at up to approximately 10 frames per second and up to 223 frames. The latest shutter charge unit and an evolved image processing system enable high-speed continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking at up to approximately 10 frames per second. The camera also supports high-speed continuous shooting at up to approximately 8 frames per second using the Live View system. The display time lag in the viewfinder and LCD monitor during continuous shooting is reduced, allowing for stable framing even with fast-moving subjects. Thanks to a larger buffer memory capacity, faster system speed, and a UHS-II compatible card slot, the camera achieves continuous shooting of approximately 223 JPEG (Fine), approximately 115 compressed RAW, and approximately 45 uncompressed RAW. The silent shooting function uses a silent, vibration-free electronic shutter for continuous shooting at up to approximately 10 frames per second without a shutter sound. Even in silent shooting, continuous shooting at up to approximately 10 frames per second with AF/AE tracking is possible. You'll never miss a decisive moment, even in scenes that require silence, like a concert. Unlike a mechanical shutter, the camera also eliminates vibrations, maximizing resolution performance. High AF accuracy even in dark scenes. Thanks to an improved AF algorithm, the low-light limit for AF detection in Single AF (AF-S) mode is EV-4 (equivalent to ISO 100/using an F2.0 lens). You can take advantage of the high-precision AF even in dark scenes. Focusing during video is easy. Support for Fast Hybrid AF during video recording ensures smooth, precise focusing even on fast-moving subjects. Covering nearly the same AF range as still images, the wide, high-density AF system captures and holds the subject. AF transition speed and AF shift sensitivity settings are also available, allowing you to tailor the focus to your individual needs. A vari-angle LCD monitor allows for flexible shooting angles, making it convenient for selfies. The camera features a side-opening vari-angle rear monitor. The vari-angle mechanism allows for free movement of 176 degrees horizontally, 180 degrees upward, and 90 degrees downward, allowing you to enjoy shooting in any position or angle depending on the situation, such as handheld shooting for video, selfies to record the situation, or impressive shots taken from a low position close to the ground.
