Product introduction Akagi, the flagship of the Nagumo task force that supported the successful advance in the early stages of the Pacific War, is back with new parts added! The product is an unpainted kit that requires adhesive assembly and painting.
The scale is 1/700, and it is an offshore model that does not include the bottom of the ship.
This product consists of a conventional (special series) mold and newly designed additional parts.
Aircraft carrier Akagi begins construction as a battlecruiser based on the 88-hull project.
Along the way, she was converted/built into an aircraft carrier due to the Washington Disarmament Treaty.
When she was completed in 1932, she had a unique shape with a three-tiered flight deck, but from 1930 to 1932 she was extensively renovated into an aircraft carrier with a full deck.
After that, it became the mainstay of the Japanese Navy's aircraft carrier force, participating in the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Indian Ocean operations at the beginning of the Pacific War.
Hit by a US aircraft carrier task force during the Midway Island capture operation in June 1945.
