Platinum Fountain Pen Celluloid Fine Point Midnight Ocean PTB-35000#50-2 is a celluloid fountain pen made from a unique manufacturing method that is the pride of Platinum Fountain Pens. [Celluloid] Celluloid is a material that was used not only for pens but also for industrial products until the invention of plastic due to its beautiful coloring. Ordinary celluloid pens are made by cutting (hollowing out) a 17 cm square block of wood with a lathe or the like, but the platinum fountain pen is made by slicing the laminated celluloid material into plates one by one. This is rolled into a pipe shape and molded into the shape of a pen. Due to the nature of celluloid as a material, we carefully apply processes such as drying for a total of half a year for each process. By continuing to use this unique method of winding, in the case of a goldfish-like handle, a uniform and beautiful surface can be obtained without the discontinuity of the handle that is found in the cutting method. In addition, the crown and the tip of the shaft are rounded (curved surface), and the entire pen is covered with celluloid.
Dimensions : 1.49 x 1.49 x 14.6 cm
Model Number : PTB-35000#50-2
