Maki-e is a traditional technique of drawing pictures and patterns with gold powder, silver powder, etc.
This model was developed and manufactured by Mr. Yutaro Shimode, a traditional craftsman in Kyoto.
Combining OCEANUS blue and maki-e, the image of a scene where water falls from a waterfall and splashes is created.
The sapphire glass of the bezel uses platinum to create the design named by Mr. Shimode.
The platinum powder used also pursues glitter when it is made into a product, and after considering various sizes, we chose size 2, which is flat-shaped.
All are handmade by Mr. Shimode, so no two are the same.
The sapphire glass of the bezel is given a gradation deposition of blue to black between the 2 o'clock position and the 8 o'clock position to give a sense of dynamism to the lacquer work.
The dial is inspired by the lacquer technique of mother-of-pearl (raden), and was originally developed to express the scene of water falling while shining brightly with white pearl shells.
In terms of functionality, in addition to adjusting the time on the watch itself with the standard radio wave reception function, it is equipped with a time adjustment function with a smartphone link using Bluetooth®.
You can easily set the time of the world time from about 300 cities, and automatically respond to changes in the time zone and daylight saving time.
