I've owned about a half dozen Seiko dive watches over the years starting with the SKX, and this may well be my favorite one of the bunch. The size and wear is perfect on my 6.75" wrist for a diver, the finishing on the case is excellent, and the dial is something else. Seiko really stepped it up this year with dials on this model, as well as the SARX055 and SRPC01/05. Difficult to choose between them, but the diver is the most versatile.My only real criticism of the watch is the monster style hands. The original 62MAS, or even Sumo style hands would have been a better choice. Some might also criticize the use of a vanilla 6R15 movement in a watch approaching $1,000, but basic Seiko movements are known to go a decade or more without service (the 7S26 in my SKX is at 16 years). That has not been my experience with Swiss ETA or Sellita movements.I would also strongly encourage any prospective buyers of the SBDC053/55 to purchase the bracelet separately while it is still available at reasonable cost.

I absolutely love this watch. It is gorgeous in every right! Beautiful deep blue color and an interesting dial pattern make it a star in the daytime. The lume at night is dual-color and that's equally fantastic. Overall, a very fine piece at an exceptional price!

Purchased as a gift. The gradient of the blue to black textured face looks great. Quite a bit of detail to the texture. The colored anodized bezel goes well with the overall look. Doesn't require lots of force to turn, but solid unidirectional clicks. Quiet internal mechanism. Not cheap, but it definitely stands apart from the non-PADI standard version. Seller was Premium-Japan. I expected it to be a week or more (J to US), but it arrived in a few days. Factory new with tags and wrapping. Recipient is very happy. Will report back if any unexpected problems.

FANTASTIC!... What a wonderful watch imported from Japan. Seiko knocks it out of the park with this Prospex PADI watch. No way this watch costs this low if "Swiss made".. impossible, it would be well into the thousands of US Dollars or Euros in my opinion.
