The design is based on the motif of "Nishikigoi," a living jewel and a work of art that swims and is popular overseas. The three base models are the original three-eye model "DW-6900", the digital-analog combination "GA-100", and the standard square model "DW-5600JK". "The DW-5600JK has a black base with a red and white pattern printed on the face, based on the image of the "Showa Sanshoku", a black body with red and white patterns all over. When the light is turned on, the same pattern as the face design appears. Each ring is decorated with an illustration of Nishikigoi as a point, and the whole watch is finished with the image of Nishikigoi. The package and the card with the Nishikigoi design are designed by BlackEyePatch, a label based in Tokyo that uses a variety of techniques from graffiti to apparel. The G-Shock is also made in Japan, with a variety of gimmicks that bring Japanese culture to the forefront.
