Great motor, used as upgrade for Grasshopper 380. Caveat emptor, this motor does not come with the pinion you need (or the hex screw, or the allen wrench). So I ordered this as a preparation for potentially burning out a stock ECX motor and when I saw the Tamiya tagging and high reviews, I thought, Awesome. I used to race a bit a decade or so age and Tamiya was like the Mercedes of RC so I figured this would be a home run. Decided to install it...it was great for the first couple of runs. Was doing some wheel swapping and found what looked like a broken piece of motor brush on the ground, but figured maybe I was mistaken, tested the motor real quick, still ran so I though all was fine. Finished the steering overhaul and reconfigured for some road runs on the new tires, and the motor does NOTHING. If I hold the throttle to full and spin the wheels myself, the motor tries sporadically to engage. Maybe I did something wrong with it by taking it off road, but nothing on it stated on road only. I give 2 stars only cause while it worked, it was fast and QUIET

If you are looking for performance,This is what your looking for. In all honesty, This may be a little more than a Tamiya Grasshopper can handle. I broke this motor in using the water method. Its to fast for this vehicle. I hit 23.3 M.P.H. with a gps strapped to the hood of the grasshopper. All we have for upgrades are the steal bearings in the wheels and gears. Even though 23 M.P.H. is slow compared to todays RC vehicles, Its all this chassis can handle. Were breaking differentials and gears left and right. Haven't heard anyone else complain of this so I'm not really sure why this is happening? As far as the motor goes, It rocks. If speed is what your looking for this where to find it.....
