The thermal gel ink disappears when rubbed.
The eraser is attached to the top of the pen.
Highlighters and markers are elements of Pilot's excellent friction product line in Japan. This erasable marker can be written in bright colors and can be erased cleanly with frictional heat. Simply rub this rubber edge over the ink and it will disappear and you can write on the same spot over and over again. Interestingly, the inks on these pens reappear when the temperature drops below -10 °
C (14 °
F). The freezer is cold enough for the ink to begin to recover. It's like a magic pen for adults! Due to the heat sensitivity of this pen ink, it is not recommended to leave it in a hot car, use it for mailing, or use it under other frictional conditions.
