デビュー当時、列強各国に衝撃を与えた最上級の軽巡洋艦時代のキットです。最上級は私の一番好きな日本軍艦なのですが、重巡への改装が行われる前の軽巡時代の艦影が特に好きなので、4番艦の熊野（鈴谷級として見れば2番艦ですが）のキットではありますが、一番オススメな商品です。新しい金型でリニューアルされた商品も出ていますが、手ごろさから言えば、このキットも負けてはおりません。リニューアルされた熊野から見ると野暮ったさは残るものの、最上級独特の美しいプロポーションは上手く表現されていると思います。製作時に煩わされるような箇所も無く、組みやすい内容となっているため、比較的短時間で組めることもこのキットの長所ではないでしょうか。是非、皆さんに組んでいただきたいと思える商品です。
