Released in June 2024
A fisheye lens with a large F1.8 aperture and a 180° diagonal angle of view. Mount: Micro Four Thirds mount. Focal length: 8mm (equivalent to 16mm in 35mm format). Maximum aperture: F1.8 / [ED8MMF18FISHEYEOM] ED8MMF18FISHEYEOM Released in June 2024
Opening up a new world with this F1.8 fisheye lens. This fisheye lens features a large F1.8 aperture and a 180° diagonal angle of view. While the fastest fisheye lenses to date are F2.8, this lens's aperture is 1.3 stops brighter, allowing for faster shutter speeds. Combined with the powerful in-body image stabilization, this lens enables handheld capture of not only nightscapes but also starry skies. Not only does it reduce subject blur when shooting underwater, but it also extends the reach of light when using flash, expanding the range of possible shooting scenarios.
Astounding optical performance for sharp depictions from center to periphery. This lens delivers exceptional resolution, even at a maximum aperture of f/1.8, surpassing the optical performance of the highly acclaimed High Grade "ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye" lens. This lens delivers exceptional resolution from center to periphery, even at maximum aperture, making it ideal for capturing nightscapes and starry skies. Its outstanding optical performance, which thoroughly suppresses chromatic aberration and coma, ensures excellent spot-focus performance, capturing stars and other points in the sky. There's also virtually no light falloff at the edges of the frame. To achieve outstanding depictions even at maximum aperture, the lens lavishly incorporates a wide range of special lenses, including Super ED, ED, Super HR, and HR lenses. The use of an HR lens at the front lens reduces the lens diameter, resulting in a lightweight and compact body despite the large f/1.8 aperture. Furthermore, the effective use of ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating minimizes ghosting and flare, making this lens particularly resistant to backlight. This lens is part of the M.ZUIKO PRO professional lens series, boasting excellent optical performance, dust- and water-resistant construction, and durability, delivering consistently high image quality under any circumstances. Six airtight seals provide strong protection against dust and water, ensuring dust- and water-resistant performance. It also boasts low-temperature resistance down to -10°C, making it ideal for outdoor and nature photography. You can get as close as approximately 2.5cm from the lens tip (minimum focusing distance of 12cm) and achieve a maximum magnification of 0.20x (35mm equivalent: 0.40x). It also enables nature macro photography that makes the most of the background. Other Features: A fixed lens hood effectively blocks unwanted light from entering the lens. It's purposefully constructed from plastic, ensuring impact resistance and preventing vignetting caused by hood deformation. Accessories: Front cap (LC-62E), Rear cap (LR-2), Lens case (LSC-0811), Instruction manual, Warranty card ■ Specifications ■ Focal length: 8mm (35mm equivalent: 16mm) Lens construction: 17 elements in 15 groups (1 aspherical lens, 3 Super ED lenses, 2 ED lenses, 1 Super HR lens, 2 HR lenses) Weather-resistant: Dust-proof and weather-resistant Angle of view: 180 degrees Minimum focusing distance: 0.12m Maximum magnification: 0.20x (35mm equivalent: 0.40x) Closest focusing range: 154mm x 82mm Number of aperture blades: 7 (circular aperture) Maximum aperture ratio: F1.8 Minimum aperture ratio: F22 Maximum diameter x total length: φ62mm x 80mm Weight: 315g □ Manufacturer's warranty period: 1 year
