finemolds 1/48 Imperial Army Type 97 Headquarters Reconnaissance Aircraft Type 1 "Tiger Troop". The Type 97 Headquarters Reconnaissance Aircraft was adopted in May 1937 for the purpose of performing strategic reconnaissance missions using high-speed aircraft, which had never existed before. The 18th Independent Flight Squadron made use of the high-speed performance of this aircraft in the skies over China to gather information for the Army's air and ground strategy planning. The tiger troop mark was established in April 1939, and was also painted on the aircraft, as a symbol of the reconnaissance corps that carried out its mission through long-distance round-trip flights. We investigated the details based on actual aircraft drawings, and while accurately reproducing the interior equipment unique to army aircraft, we took into account ease of assembly.
