New parts are included for the Unryu-class first ship, Unryu, which was planned to strengthen the aircraft carrier force before the outbreak of the Pacific War! The product is an unpainted kit that requires gluing and painting.
〈br〉 The scale is 1/700, and the model does not include the bottom of the ship.
This product is made up of a conventional (special series) mold and newly designed additional parts.
The Unryu was built at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal as the first Unryu-class ship and was completed in August 1944.
One ship was planned in the aircraft carrier expansion plan before the war, and later, an additional 15 ships were planned in the Kai (5) Plan.
The first ship was Unryu, and the 15 ships were the second and subsequent ships such as Amagi and Katsuragi.
From the time of completion, the outer hull was painted with anti-submarine camouflage, and later rocket launchers were added to both sides near the bow.
Unlike the Amagi and Katsuragi, the exterior shape was not simplified in order to shorten the construction period, and it had the rounded shape of a traditional Japanese aircraft carrier. After completion, the number of aircraft on board was not sufficient, and it continued to be on standby in the inland sea.
In December 1944, the ship was sent on an emergency mission to the Philippines carrying army troops and Ohkas, but was sunk by a torpedo attack by a US submarine on the way to the Philippines.
- The product is based on the appearance of the ship when it was completed in August 1944, and the final appearance when a rocket launcher was added later, and you can choose/make either appearance.
〈br〉 - The simplified construction shape, which is different from Amagi and Katsuragi, is not seen, and the characteristic rounded sponson shape of the conventional ship is reproduced.
Newly designed parts are available to standardize the differences in the reproduction of equipment, etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts are divided to take painting into consideration. The No. 13 radar is a new enclosed part with a truss structure, sculptured, and the antenna part is also shaped.
- The No. 21 Type 6 radar for the bridge and the insulator base for fixing the elements on the front side are more delicately carved than the conventional accessory parts.
・The 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun A1 Kai 1 is divided into 6 parts, with the modeling resolution improved from the existing 2 parts.
The 9-meter cutter is made into two parts for painting, and the stand is available as a separate part, with the option of a one-piece deck mold.
・The canvas, wheelhouse and engine room canopy of the 12m internal combustion boat are made into separate parts in consideration of painting.
Each painting is done and assembly and bonding are done later.
- The boat body and the loading floor are made into separate parts in a 3-part configuration, and can be assembled after painting, eliminating the need for masking.
・The 12-meter internal fire launch can now be expressed without the canvas
・The shipboard stand is molded to express the uneven shape and light holes, giving it a more precise look.

- The Type 96 25mm triple machine gun and single machine gun are standardly constructed in two parts, reducing the need for painting and color separation.

The bow anchor chain deck is an integrated part with a non-slip strip pattern, bollard, hawser reel and three-dimensionally carved anchor chain.

The surface is carved with various shapes such as aircraft locking eye rings, landing brake lines, and expansion joints.
・Windbreak fences are carved into the flight deck
The concealed type 21 radar and two concealed searchlights on the flight deck can be deployed or retracted.
The elevator can be assembled either in the up position or in the down position into the hangar.
The truss structure on the bow and stern of the flight deck is expressed as a three-dimensional sculpture.

The bridge base is a one-piece molded part made using a slide mold.
The chimney is divided into upper and lower parts, and the internal conductive plate is a separate part for fine detailing.

- Various types of equipment on the ship's sides, such as radio antenna masts and landing lights, are available as separate parts.
The 25mm triple machine gun is precisely sculpted and comes in two parts for easy painting, with the 2018 model molded parts included as standard.
- Four types of aircraft are included, a total of 22 aircraft
The aircraft types were the four types owned by the 601st Air Group, which existed as a carrier-based unit after completion: "Zero Fighter Type 52", "Zero Fighter Type 21 Bomber", "Suisei", and "Tenzan".
- Four A6M Zero Type 52 carrier-based fighters are included, with the windshield and propellers made into separate parts to allow for painting.
- Four Zero Type 21 (bomb-loaded) aircraft are included, with the drop tanks on both wings and the 250 kg bomb under the fuselage reproduced as separate parts.
〈br〉・The windshield, propeller, and 60kg bomb of the Comet Carrier Bomber Type 12 are separate parts, making it easy to paint them separately.
- Four Tenzan carrier attack aircraft are included, with separate parts to depict the characteristic four-wing propeller and the 250 kg bomb suspended under the fuselage.
