The "Uonuma Koshihikari" rice variety is the king of rice, and has been awarded a special A rating in the food quality ranking by the Japan Grain Inspection Association since 1988.

Uonuma, the best rice-growing region in Japan

Uonuma is a mountainous area surrounded by mountains over 1000 meters high. The unique mountainous climate, with a large temperature difference between day and night, reduces the nighttime depletion of starch, which gives the rice its flavor, and produces delicious rice with a good taste.

The Secret to Deliciousness

As rice is a vegetable that can only be harvested once a year, its storage conditions greatly affect its quality.
