The GA-2100, also known as the "Casioak" for its octagonal bezel and thin case, is a new addition to the G-Shock lineup for 2019.
Although it is a "new" model, its DNA can be traced back to the first-generation G-Shock "DW5000," and it has been a worldwide blockbuster hit, attracting not only the younger generation, who are becoming increasingly weary of watches, but also old-time G-Shock fans.
The official name (model number) is GA-2100.
It is a basic model, added to the G-SHOCK series by Casio in August 2019.
It is a modernized model that inherits the first G-SHOCK "DW5000" created by Casio in 1983, and its main features are the "octagonal bezel", "thinnest case in G-SHOCK history", and "Degiana display". In particular, the octagonal bezel and the thin case are shared with Audemars Piguet's popular luxury sports watch "Royal Oak," and the name "Casioak" has become widespread.
